PGM Anywhere Hot Spots

 

Issue: Client did not receive provisioning emails with login info and password.

Description: This could happened either because we set up the account with an incorrect email address or because of spam filters blocking emails sent from the PGM application server.

Workaround: Looked up the needed information in the PGM System Application and send login info and password in separate emails.

Email with login info (substitute FIRST, LAST, XXXXXX, YYYYYY, ZZZZZZ)

I am resending your login information for PGM Anywhere. You have been designated the primary admin for your organization's PGM Anywhere account. Please reply to confirm you received this email, so we can rule out the potential of a problem with email delivery.

To make it easy to launch PGM Anywhere in the future, we encourage you to bookmark the login page in your browser and/or to create a shortcut for it on your desktop.

Primary administrator responsibilities: Your organization is currently licensed for ZZZZZZ user(s). As the primary administrator, it is your responsibility to set up accounts for all other users (if any) at your organization and deactivate users who no longer should have access to PGM Anywhere. To perform these tasks, click Users in the upper right of the PGM Anywhere screen after you log in. After you have added a user, you will need to send the new user the clientname, username, and password for the new account. The user will be prompted to change the password on first login.

You can grant a user the Officer role, which enables the user to produce all illustrations, or the Admin role, which enables the user not only to produce all illustrations, but also to manage users and customize the software. You can transfer your primary administrator role to another user by editing that user under Users - User Management, and clicking the Primary Admin checkbox.

To customize PGM Anywhere for your organization, click Customize in the upper right of the PGM Anywhere screen. Under Organization Information, click the edit icon next to your organization name. You can then confirm the presentation heading lines and short name to be used in column headings, upload logo image files that you would like to use in headings or diagrams, and set the colors to be used in diagrams. Click Done when you are finished, and wait a few moments while your changes are configured. Then, review other Customize settings.

For detailed guidance on how to perform Users and Customize tasks, click Help in the upper right of the PGM Anywhere screen while in the Users or Customize area, respectively.

Now you are ready to start creating presentations!

Email with password (substitute FIRST, LAST)

Issue: Client asks for password reset but has also forgotten clientname or username.

Description: For security reasons, the password reset email contains the new password nut not the clientname and password. We will consider an enhancement to have the PGM System Application send two separate emails, but in the meantime the login info will need to be sent separately by hand.

Workaround: Send email with clientname and username (substitute FIRST, LAST, XXXXXX, YYYYYY)

Issue: User tries Forgot Password but doesn’t get email.

Description: Some users may not receive the email with the reset password link. This can be due to an email delivery delay, so waiting 30 to 60 minutes or longer might be advisable. It’s also a good idea to verify the user’s email address in the PGM Anywhere System Application, But we have seen some email providers, such as Comcast.net and possibly Juno, that for some unknown reason do not deliver emails from PGM Anywhere.

Workaround: Have primary administrator at client reset the user’s password using the Users screen in PGM Anywhere. It might also be possible to change the email address to one that works. Otherwise, contact Winston or Warren about resetting password at the database level.

 

Issue: User gets incompatible browser version error on login screen.

Description: Error message reads:

"PGM Anywhere is not compatible with your browser version. You can run PGM Anywhere in Chrome 27 or higher, Internet Explorer 9 or higher, FireFox 21 or higher, and Safari 5 or higher. Please upgrade or install a compatible browser.

Your browser reports your version is [Browser] [Version]. If your actual version is higher, your browser may be running in a compatibility mode that mimics a lower version. [For IE: To turn that mode off, close this alert message, go to Tools – Compatibility View Settings, and remove pgcalc.com from the list of websites.]”

Workaround: The error message overs the usual situations but there may be other special cases that would need to be referred to Winston or Warren. Note that on IE 9 and IE 10, there is a blue broken page icon in the address bar that also toggles Compatibility View mode, but that icon does not appear in IE 11.

 

Issue: Client has custom gift annuity rate tables.

Description: We can set up the client so that all of the custom gift annuity rate tables created for that client under PGM 7.1 appear as choices in the gift annuity rate table menu under Customize – Calculation Options. That will enable the client to change the table to rerun old calculations as well as create new cases using their current table. Send client name and ID to Winston.

 

Issue: Client wants to change clientname or username.

Workaround. Ordinarily, these are set when a client account or user account is created and cannot be changed. However, we can do that manually in special circumstances. Forward request to Winston.

 

Issue: Need to delete client account that was provisioned by mistake.

Workaround: Send info on mistake to be corrected to Winston.

 

Issue: Client with 1 copy license wants to create new user account and deactivate old one.

Description: This may be desirable when there is a change of personnel at a client organization. User is prevented from doing that because new account can’t be added until old one is deactivated, and old once can’t be deactivated while it is the primary administrator.

Workaround: With client on phone, go into the Client Information screen in the PGM System Application and temporarily increase registered user count from 1 to 2. Walk them through adding a new account and deactivating the old one, which they client will need to do in the User – User Management screen in the PGM Anywhere application, then change the registered user count in the PGM System application from 2 back to 1.
